Overview: Join a dedicated team supporting the developmental and care needs of young children in a nurturing childcare center located in the Southeastern United States. This role assists the lead teacher in maintaining a high-quality program that fosters growth and learning in a safe, clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the lead teacher by implementing curriculum and activities tailored to individual and group needs.
• Engage positively with children, serving as a role model and promoting a healthy learning atmosphere.
• Assist with curriculum planning and preparation of materials for daily educational activities.
• Follow established center procedures independently, including diaper changing, emergency protocols, and daily schedules.
• Participate in parent involvement initiatives such as newsletters, conferences, and meetings.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the childcare environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the center’s mission.

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Early Childhood Development coursework (minimum of 6 additional hours) from an accredited institution is necessary; out-of-state coursework must be reviewed by the appropriate state division.
• Certification in Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Heart Association is required.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a childcare or elementary school setting.

Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of children from birth to five years.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to observe and respond effectively to children’s needs in the classroom.

Physical Requirements: This position involves walking, standing, and lifting children and various objects throughout the workday.
