Education

National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (CDE) certification is required.

Experience

Three to five years of recent hospital experience in a relevant clinical area is essential. Previous management or case management experience is highly desirable.

Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary. The role demands excellent organizational, prioritization, and leadership abilities. Candidates must understand the physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of diverse patient populations.

Physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasional bending and lifting, and access to all hospital areas. Excellent speech, auditory, and visual acuity are required for effective patient communication and observation. The position may involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
