Position Overview:
Join a dynamic team as a Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Technologist, performing invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and radiology procedures. This role involves operating and ensuring quality assurance of imaging and x-ray equipment, patient monitoring, and assisting physicians during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality care tailored to the clinical needs of high-risk cardiac patients, providing education and reassurance throughout procedures.
• Perform scrub role duties including sterile field setup, patient preparation, and assisting during exams.
• Monitor and document hemodynamic, EKG, and pressure waveforms accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment use, procedural events, and any complications.
• Ensure procedural time-outs are conducted prior to starting.
• Act as a liaison between nursing staff and cath lab personnel, communicating patient follow-up care and procedure outcomes.
• Respond promptly in emergencies, assisting with CPR, defibrillation, and documentation as per policy.
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols within the cath lab environment.
• Participate actively in quality control, preventive maintenance, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a lead worker and preceptor for new staff after demonstrating proficiency.
• Commit to ongoing professional development, staying current with procedural methodologies and equipment.
• Understand patient developmental needs from young adults to seniors to provide appropriate care.

Education and Certifications:

• Completion of radiologic technology and cardiovascular technology programs.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and ARRT and/or RCIS.
• Cardiovascular Interventional (CV) or Vascular Interventional (VI) registry required; VI registry eligible candidates have two years to obtain registry.

Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience with invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and radiology procedures.
• Strong knowledge of medications, emergency procedures, and medical equipment.
• Ability to initiate emergency actions within scope of practice and legal guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals.
• Composure under high-stress situations and flexibility with work schedules including on-call availability.

Licenses: BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
