Summary: This full-time night shift role requires a certified Paramedic to provide advanced patient care and transportation services within a busy metropolitan advanced life support ambulance service. The position involves emergency, non-emergency, convalescent, and long-distance transport duties, adhering to state certification and local medical protocols.

Major Responsibilities:

• Perform patient care and rescue duties, including airway management, bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, and other ALS procedures within certification scope.
• Drive ambulance safely and maintain vehicle readiness by inspecting, cleaning, restocking, and reporting equipment issues.
• Respond promptly to calls, follow medical protocols, and document all patient care and billing information accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas including bays, locker rooms, and other facilities.
• Work under supervision of shift supervisors and training officers, and participate in ongoing education and training.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Paramedic certification as per state requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Experience:

• Preferred experience with advanced life support services.
• At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous materials, and pre-hospital care equipment.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under high-stress situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
• Capability to lift and move patients weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Familiarity with regional geography and healthcare facilities in the Southeastern United States.

Physical Requirements: Must have good speech and hearing acuity, visual observation skills, and physical ability to operate emergency vehicles and perform patient transfers in various environments.
