Summary: This role supports respiratory care services by maintaining adequate supplies, medications, and medical gas tanks. Responsibilities include managing used equipment and assisting with intermittent non-invasive patient care such as administering nebulizer treatments. This position does not involve critical care or care of unstable patients.

Education: Candidates must be enrolled students in good standing within an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program affiliated with a regional healthcare provider. Verification of successful completion of competency evaluations in respiratory care procedures, as defined by the relevant state respiratory care board, is required.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association and registration as a Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) with the state respiratory care board are mandatory.

Experience and Skills: The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure and communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, and visitors. Manual dexterity for equipment operation, visual acuity, physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, and the ability to move patients and equipment are essential. The role may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
