Summary: The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist is proficient in performing a full range of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures essential for diagnosing various medical conditions. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care and the ability to work effectively with individuals across all age groups.

Education and Formal Training

Candidates must have completed an accredited radiologic sciences program. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography is required or candidates must be registry eligible. Maintaining current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred. New graduates who are ARRT registered or registry eligible are encouraged to apply. Those who are registry eligible must obtain ARRT Radiography registration within twelve months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The technologist must demonstrate excellent patient care abilities, understanding developmental needs across all age groups, and adapting treatment accordingly. Experience interacting with patients of diverse ages is important.

Physical Requirements

This position involves prolonged standing, bending, and manual dexterity. The ability to assume awkward positions and respond quickly in emergency situations is necessary. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and carrying objects up to 50 lbs. Exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials may occur.

Licenses and Certifications

ARRT certification in Radiography is required. Current BLS certification must be maintained.
