Education & Experience

A minimum of two years' experience in electronic hospital billing or collections within a medical environment is required. Strong skills in accounting and proficiency with personal computers, including Microsoft Windows, are essential.

Requirements

• Knowledge of third-party claim adjudication including Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, commercial insurance, and managed care.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9/10, and HCPCS is preferred.
• Successful completion of departmental training with a score of 75% or higher on topics like reimbursement calculation, UB-04 forms, patient account terminology, and system navigation.
• Experience with personal computer software and office equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, and accurate mathematical abilities.
• Near visual acuity and motor coordination for repetitive computer and office equipment tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and communicate effectively by telephone.
