Description

• Conduct thorough assessments for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized evaluations and observational strategies.
• Create tailored treatment plans that focus on achieving both immediate and extended communication or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication clarity, language mastery, fluency, voice modulation, and safe swallowing practices.
• Engage collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to synchronize care efforts.
• Educate patients and their families to support therapy progress in their day-to-day lives.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, contributing to seamless continuity of patient care.
• Ensure all documentation is precise, timely, and adheres to state, federal, and institutional standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest advances in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required if ASHA certification is not acquired.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
