Description

• Conduct assessments for varied populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients, utilizing recognized evaluation methods and observational techniques.
• Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognition, or swallowing improvement goals.
• Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions focusing on elements like language, fluency, voice, and swallowing necessities.
• Engage in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, and families, to implement comprehensive care approaches.
• Educate patients and families on their roles in therapy to further their progress between sessions.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and therapy to ensure uninterrupted care pathways.
• Maintain precise documentation in accordance with relevant state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Embrace ongoing professional growth by keeping abreast of new developments through education and peer interactions.

Education

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA is not yet achieved.

Certifications

• State licensure for a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
