Overview

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will perform a wide variety of diagnostic imaging examinations while collaborating closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, emergency department clinicians, surgeons, and fellow imaging professionals.

Responsibilities

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will:

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders
• Verify patient identity using established two-identifier safety protocols
• Review imaging orders for clinical accuracy and appropriateness
• Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images
• Select appropriate exposure techniques utilizing sound radiographic principles
• Produce diagnostic-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure through ALARA practices
• Educate patients regarding imaging procedures to improve comfort and cooperation
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures when appropriate
• Perform imaging examinations across outpatient, inpatient, emergency department, and surgical environments
• Complete image post-processing and electronic documentation within PACS and RIS systems
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance throughout every encounter
• Support departmental workflow while assisting teammates during periods of increased patient volume
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and equipment quality control activities
• Maintain radiation safety standards for patients, coworkers, and visitors
• Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver timely diagnostic services

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Licensure & Certifications

Required:

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• Ohio Department of Health Radiologic License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Continuing Education credits necessary to maintain ARRT certification

Technologists interested in advancing into additional imaging modalities are encouraged to apply. Cross-training opportunities may be available with registry completion expected within established timeframes.

Experience

• Previous hospital radiology experience preferred
• Three or more years of Medical Imaging experience preferred
• Newer technologists with strong clinical training and excellent technical skills are encouraged to apply
