Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on inpatients and outpatients in accordance with Radiologist direction and established departmental protocols
• Conduct abdominal and pelvic sonograms, including gynecological and obstetrical studies, as well as transvaginal ultrasound
• Scan small-parts anatomy including thyroid, breast, and scrotal structures with attention to image clarity and diagnostic value
• Execute ultrasound-guided interventional procedures such as biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations
• Perform radiographic examinations using X-ray and applicable imaging modalities alongside sonography duties
• Position patients correctly for each examination, prioritizing comfort, safety, and optimal image acquisition
• Adjust equipment parameters to maximize image accuracy and ensure diagnostic-grade output
• Analyze and process images to flag abnormalities or disease indicators for Radiologist review
• Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary care team members to communicate imaging findings effectively
• Maintain thorough, accurate patient records and complete procedural documentation in Epic

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, or a closely related accredited field

Licensure & Certifications

• ARRT registration required (or equivalent nationally recognized credentialing body)
• State licensure or certification as required by Pennsylvania regulatory authorities
• RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) registration accepted in lieu of or alongside ARRT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience
