Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing both standardized tools and observational assessment techniques.
• Create bespoke treatment strategies addressing immediate and long-term speech, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family members, and caregivers to craft comprehensive care plans.
• Provide educational support to patients and their families, aiding their progress beyond therapeutic interactions.
• Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations, ensuring seamless continuous care throughout the healing process.
• Maintain diligent documentation that adheres to the requirements of state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Pursue continuing education and peer exchange to stay at the forefront of speech language pathology advancements.

Education

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the candidate is not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting.
