Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across abdominal, vascular, and OB/GYN applications, producing high-quality sonographic images optimized for physician interpretation
• Collaborate directly with attending and consulting physicians to ensure imaging findings support accurate, timely patient diagnosis
• Prepare each patient before the procedure -- explaining what to expect, positioning them appropriately, and attending to their comfort throughout the exam
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment in accordance with facility safety and quality standards
• Document procedures accurately and manage patient records within the facility's electronic health record system
• Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant imaging environment
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care on every shift, recognizing that many overnight patients are at their most vulnerable

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related allied health program

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Texas State Ultrasound Technologist licensure required
• ARDMS certification (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required
• RDMS with Abdomen or OB/GYN specialty required
• One of the following vascular credentials required: RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), VS, RVS, or RCVT

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on clinical ultrasound experience required

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated comfort with both general and vascular sonography in an acute-care or hospital-based setting
• Proficiency with electronic documentation and PACS/RIS platforms
