What You'll Be Doing

• Design individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to each patient's communication, swallowing, cognitive-linguistic, or fluency needs.
• Deliver direct one-on-one speech therapy targeting articulation, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia across the lifespan.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams — including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and caregivers — to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and their families on home strategies and techniques that reinforce progress between clinical visits.
• Support inpatient evaluations and interventions when needed, maintaining consistent quality of care from admission through discharge.
• Complete thorough, timely documentation in compliance with organizational, state, and federal standards.
• Pursue continuing education and collaborate with peers to remain at the leading edge of evidence-based practice.

Education Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
• Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion required if CCC-SLP certification has not yet been obtained.

Certifications

• Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Texas.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start date.
