Description

• Assess patients varying from children to seniors using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create bespoke treatment plans that meet immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
• Conduct individualized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication skills, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
• Work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop unified care plans.
• Provide educational resources to patients and families to encourage ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuity of care throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in alignment with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
