Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or Diploma required)
Current RN licensure or NCLEX eligibility
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Familiarity with electronic documentation and basic computer skills
Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
Passion for surgical care and a desire to grow in an inpatient hospital setting

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct, patient-focused nursing care using the nursing process
Monitor patients recovering from surgery, administer medications, and document progress
Communicate effectively with physicians, surgical teams, and fellow nurses
Support patients and families with education, comfort, and timely updates
Participate in quality improvement, clinical initiatives, and shared governance
Follow professional standards and maintain compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act
