Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a Mammography Technologist on a per diem basis. This role involves operating diagnostic imaging equipment with professionalism and precision to support medical diagnosis and treatment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality mammographic images, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring patient confidentiality throughout the process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and timely care to each patient encountered.
• Report any suspected equipment malfunctions promptly to management.
• Maintain proficiency in all basic and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Accurately position patients using accessory devices and instruct on breathing techniques, adjusting technical factors based on patient characteristics.
• Perform clerical tasks including patient reception, documentation, billing, and exam sign-out.
• Occasionally assist with scheduling for mammography, X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound appointments.
• Adhere to sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs within the department.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Conduct oneself professionally as a representative of the diagnostic imaging department.
• Engage in continuing education and in-service training to maintain skills.
• Attend departmental and special meetings as required.
• Be available to return to the facility for emergency or disaster situations.
• Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms according to infection control policies.
• Enter patient information accurately into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Support mammography quality control, follow-up communications, and program compliance.
• Stock supplies in all imaging rooms as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 24 months).
• At least one year of mammography experience is required.
• Experience with 3D mammography is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography or obtain registration within one year of employment.
• State licensure as required.
• RTRM certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of mammography equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to adapt imaging procedures to meet patient needs and resolve issues effectively.
• Understanding of age-specific growth and development principles to tailor patient care.
• Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office and PACS/RIS systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and team members.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using standard office equipment.
• Willingness to work on-call shifts as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This role involves frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and crouching. Vision, hearing, and speech must be within normal range with or without corrective devices.

Work Environment

This position offers 12-hour shifts on a part-time, per diem basis within a supportive healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest region.
