Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a Telemetry Technician working night shifts on a PRN basis. This role involves continuous cardiac monitoring and surveillance of telemetry patients, ensuring timely recognition and reporting of rhythm changes and potentially life-threatening arrhythmias to the Registered Nurse following established protocols.

Job Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor patient cardiac rhythms and physiological parameters.
• Observe, document, and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Recognize rhythm abnormalities and promptly communicate concerns to the RN.
• Operate and troubleshoot monitoring equipment effectively.
• Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and emergency situations.
• Maintain composure and communicate clearly in high-pressure environments.
• Utilize office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, copiers, telephones, and computers.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all electronic and paper communications.
• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Document initiation and discontinuation of patient monitoring accurately.
• Follow procedures for managing patient records and maintaining confidentiality.
• Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Telemetry Technician or ECG interpretation course preferred.
• One to two years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant experience in patient care is a plus.
• Telemetry Technician experience is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant License required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation with the ability to pass the certification exam.
• New technicians will be enrolled in an approved telemetry course with a three-week completion window.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of yearly competency testing.

Work Schedule

This position is for night shift PRN hours, typically from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
