Job Summary

As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for managing patient registration processes, verifying insurance and benefits, and handling financial responsibilities such as co-payments and statement balances. Your role includes operating multi-line phone systems, responding to patient inquiries, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients using healthcare software, ensuring data accuracy including patient identification and insurance verification.
• Obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorizations for services.
• Conduct registration interviews prior to patient visits.
• Perform point-of-service collections and manage daily cash drawer operations.
• Handle incoming calls professionally and relay information to appropriate staff.
• Complete administrative tasks such as mail processing and workflow improvement projects.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology and revenue cycle preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification encouraged.
