Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a dedicated Respiratory Therapist. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care under physician orders, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients. You will plan, implement, and assess therapy effectiveness while collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care.

Education

Applicants must hold an Associate degree from a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited program.

Experience

A minimum of two years of directly related experience in an acute care setting is required.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current, unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license for the state of Washington.
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification required upon hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required within one year.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate and timely respiratory care, assessing patient needs and administering prescribed therapies.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and manage respiratory equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Lead and supervise respiratory therapy aides and technicians.
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients and caregivers on home respiratory care.
• Contribute to departmental policy development, training programs, and workflow coordination.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical skills.
• Ability to assess and tailor treatments across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Proficient with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
• Independent judgment, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage diverse assignments.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of equipment up to 35 pounds. The role requires adaptability to a fast-paced clinical environment and commitment to maintaining a positive, respectful workplace culture.

Work schedule includes 0.9 FTE with 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus contingent on a two-year commitment.
