Job Summary: Provide both direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced emergency care environment. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision. Efficiently triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs while managing patient flow effectively. Collaborate closely with Emergency Department physicians to communicate changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results. Respond promptly and accurately to patient condition changes or treatment responses.

Essential Job Functions:

• Deliver direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, consult specialists as needed, and adjust nursing care to ensure optimal patient results.
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations.
• Utilize triage protocols to assign appropriate categories and ensure timely care.
• Assess and reassess pain levels, apply suitable pain management techniques, and educate patients and families on pain control.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and accurately interpret findings.
• Apply knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identify dysrhythmias, and provide appropriate treatment.
• Conduct waived point-of-care testing per clinical policies and interpret results to take necessary actions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications and administer them correctly according to patient age and condition, adhering to medication safety protocols.
• Prepare, administer, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids as required.
• Document patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessments thoroughly and accurately.
• Ensure patient safety and minimize healthcare errors in all aspects of care.

Education, Experience, and Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with up to six months of RN experience.
• Current RN license valid in the practicing state.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within one year of hire.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of hire.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an RN in an Emergency Department setting.
