Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a PRN Respiratory Therapist working day shifts. This role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory care services under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients. You will plan, implement, and assess therapy effectiveness while collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and timely respiratory care, assessing patient needs and interpreting test results to develop treatment plans.
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies such as inhalants, mechanical ventilation, and bronchopulmonary drainage.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gas analysis, and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Supervise respiratory therapy aides and technicians, ensuring safe and effective equipment use.
• Participate in discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and assistive equipment.
• Contribute to departmental policy development, training programs, and workflow coordination within the care team.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license in Washington State.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required at hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within one year.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical skills with the ability to operate related equipment safely.
• Ability to assess and tailor treatments across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and families.
• Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
• Independent judgment, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage diverse responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent lifting and carrying of equipment up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.

Work Environment
