Position Overview

As the Facilities Manager, you will lead maintenance, biomedical services, and transportation teams, directing vendor contracts and supporting capital improvement projects. Your efforts will promote reliability, performance, and sustainability while ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including DNV standards for critical access hospitals. This position plays a vital role in operational readiness and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership and operational direction for facilities maintenance, biomedical services, and transportation departments.
• Supervise maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective programs, ensuring optimal operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical gas, mechanical, structural, and life safety systems.
• Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Lead minor construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects, coordinating with stakeholders and contractors.
• Oversee biomedical services, ensuring medical equipment maintenance and regulatory compliance.
• Manage transportation services and vehicle fleet, ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.
• Ensure compliance with building, life safety, environmental, and healthcare facility codes.
• Manage vendor contracts and monitor performance to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
• Develop and maintain policies supporting regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives focused on facility operations, energy efficiency, and safety.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Certifications such as CHFM or CHOP-B highly desirable.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years progressive facilities management experience, including at least 3 years in healthcare.
• Experience managing biomedical services or transportation functions preferred.

Requirements and Skills

• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and DNV standards.
• Expertise in facility systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety.
• Proficiency in vendor coordination, contract management, and project planning.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams.
