Position Summary

As an Advanced Maintenance Engineer, you will oversee essential systems such as HVAC, medical gas, boilers, chillers, air compressors, and emergency generators. Your expertise will be vital in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting regulatory compliance efforts.

Essential Functions

• Operate and monitor critical utility systems to maintain optimal performance.
• Perform advanced preventive maintenance and repairs following technical manuals and code requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex building system failures independently or with team collaboration.
• Provide technical support during regulatory surveys and facility audits, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log activities and ensure compliance.
• Manage requisition of spare parts and tools efficiently.
• Serve as the primary contact for vendor services on advanced systems, ensuring safety and operational standards.
• Stay current with changes in codes, healthcare standards, and protocols affecting facility maintenance.
• Respond promptly to utility alarms, failures, or emergencies, leading resolution efforts.
• Participate in long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement projects.
• Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring junior maintenance staff.
• Be available for on-call duties to support after-hours maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or institutional maintenance with a technical certification; or
• At least 4 years of healthcare maintenance experience with a Senior Mechanical certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months); or
• Minimum 8 years of healthcare or institutional maintenance experience.

Additional Requirements

• Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory codes such as NFPA, Joint Commission, and OSHA.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Work Schedule
