Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional nursing care by assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans using critical thinking and sound clinical judgment. The role requires knowledge of nursing principles and techniques for acutely ill patients and adherence to state nursing practice regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols and education.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members by providing accurate and timely patient information to ensure continuity of care.
• Document patient care activities, including medications, vital signs, and intake/output, and develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Provide direct patient care in compliance with legal and ethical standards, including obtaining appropriate consents.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to support a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
• Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• Recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience of one year or more is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care functions.
• Ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development to meet patient needs.
• Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Effective organizational and prioritization skills within a dynamic clinical environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, and reaching as required by patient care duties.

Work Environment

This position involves 12-hour night shifts within a 40-hour workweek, providing care in a hospital with Level II Cardiac, Level III Stroke, and Level IV Trauma designations.
