This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in various settings including outpatient, emergency, and inpatient environments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and provide clear instructions on specimen collection procedures.
• Perform blood draws using venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick techniques.
• Collect throat and nasal specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Process specimens for laboratory technicians or prepare them for reference lab submission.
• Conduct CLIA waived testing and select non-CLIA waived tests.
• Collect and process drug screens for pre-employment and post-accident scenarios.
• Manage phone inquiries and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with inventory management and maintain laboratory supply stock.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: At least six months of phlebotomy experience in a patient care setting.
• Preferred: Six months of sample processing and CLIA waived testing experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Must obtain a current state Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist license within 90 days of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Intermediate knowledge of laboratory processes and testing procedures.
• Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts as needed.
