Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Patient Access Specialist I, providing compassionate and high-quality customer service. This role is essential in ensuring patients are accurately scheduled and registered for clinic and hospital services, supporting them throughout their care journey including financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and register patients using healthcare software, ensuring data accuracy including patient identification and insurance verification.
  • Verify referrals and pre-authorizations for services as needed.
  • Conduct registration interviews prior to patient visits.
  • Manage point-of-service collections such as co-payments and balances, including cash drawer operations.
  • Operate multi-line phone systems to handle patient inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain patient comfort, dignity, safety, and confidentiality during intake processes.
  • Complete daily administrative tasks, including mail processing and workflow improvement research.
  • Participate in special projects and support team activities.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Healthcare experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.

Work Schedule

Part-time night shifts on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM, consisting of two 10-hour shifts.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.
