Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers comprehensive nursing care by assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. This role requires sound critical thinking and decisive judgment to care for acutely ill patients in accordance with established policies and protocols. The RN maintains and enhances professional skills essential to clinical practice and complies with the regional Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following approved nursing techniques.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members by providing timely and precise patient information to ensure continuity of care.
• Document patient care activities thoroughly, including medications, vital signs, and intake/output, and develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Provide direct patient care adhering to legal and ethical standards, including obtaining appropriate consents.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to support a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
• Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• Recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience of one year or more is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current, unrestricted nursing license valid in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.
• Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to meet patient needs.
• Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Effective organizational and prioritization skills within a dynamic clinical environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in English.
• Comfortable using current technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, and reaching as required by patient care duties.

Work Environment

This position involves 12-hour night shifts within a 40-hour workweek.
