About the Role

Under the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, the RN delivers comprehensive nursing care using sound judgment and clinical knowledge. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, assisting providers during examinations, and accurately documenting patient care. The nurse will also develop individualized care plans and ensure compliance with nursing standards and legal requirements.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of emergency room nursing experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications are required.
• TNCC certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
• Provide timely and accurate information to healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, care, and documentation.
• Prepare equipment and assist providers with patient treatment and examinations.
• Document all patient care activities, including medications, vital signs, and intake/output.
• Develop patient-specific care plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Practice fiscal responsibility in the use of supplies and pharmacy items.
• Adhere to legal and ethical standards, including obtaining appropriate consents.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, in-service trainings, and special projects.
