Position Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate, direct patient care in Labor and Delivery, Recovery, and Post-Partum units. This role involves assessing and planning individualized care, collaborating closely with physicians, and responding promptly to changes in patient conditions. The position includes general nursing duties in Mother/Baby departments and occasional support in Acute Care, Outpatient, and Emergency settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, including support during c-sections and family education on infant and self-care.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation in line with current standards and policies.
• Maintain professional interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine activity using continuous electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and palpations; provide interventions and reassess based on AWHONN and ACOG guidelines.
• Adapt to stressful situations with flexibility and organization.
• Recognize and respond effectively to obstetrical emergencies.
• Participate in departmental projects and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through educational programs, literature review, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Be available for on-call duties, able to report within 60 minutes when called.

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Active RN license or eligible compact license.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate EFM.
• Completion of STABLE or other mandated classes within 12 months.
• At least one year of recent Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.

Work Environment: This full-time position involves 12-hour night shifts totaling 72 hours per pay period, including 60 hours in Labor and Delivery and 12 hours on-call. The role is based in a regional healthcare facility serving the Pacific Northwest.
