Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Acute Care Telemetry Technician working night shifts on a PRN basis. This role involves continuous cardiac monitoring and surveillance of telemetry patients, ensuring timely recognition and reporting of rhythm changes and potentially life-threatening arrhythmias to the nursing staff according to established protocols.

Job Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor patient cardiac rhythms and physiological parameters.
• Observe, document, and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Recognize rhythm abnormalities and promptly communicate concerns to Registered Nurses.
• Operate and troubleshoot monitoring equipment effectively.
• Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and emergency situations.
• Maintain composure and communicate clearly in high-pressure environments.
• Utilize office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, copiers, telephones, and computers for documentation and communication.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient monitoring initiation and discontinuation.
• Follow proper procedures for managing patient records and confidentiality.
• Participate in special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Telemetry Technician or ECG interpretation course preferred.
• One to two years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred.
• Telemetry Technician experience is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation with the ability to pass a competency exam.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to complete a telemetry training course within three weeks of hire.
• Ability to pass annual competency testing.
