Job Summary
As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for scheduling and registering patients using specialized software, verifying insurance and benefits, and managing financial responsibilities such as co-payments and co-insurances. Your role includes conducting registration interviews, handling multi-line phone systems, and supporting patients with inquiries while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately schedule and register patients, ensuring data integrity including patient identification and insurance verification.
- Obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorizations for services.
- Conduct patient registration interviews prior to initial visits.
- Manage point-of-service collections and daily cash drawer operations.
- Operate multi-line telephone systems to efficiently route and respond to calls.
- Provide timely and courteous responses to patient inquiries, ensuring comfort and confidentiality.
- Complete daily administrative tasks including mail processing and workflow improvements.
- Participate in special projects and support team initiatives.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Healthcare experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.

Physical Requirements
