Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, you will deliver general nursing care using sound judgment and nursing principles. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, assisting providers during examinations, and accurately documenting patient care. You will develop individualized care plans and maintain compliance with nursing standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
• Provide accurate and timely information to healthcare team members to support continuity of care.
• Assess, care for, and document patient conditions using the nursing process.
• Prepare equipment and assist providers during patient treatment and examinations.
• Ensure proper documentation of medications, vital signs, and patient intake/output.
• Develop patient-specific care plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in charging supplies and pharmacy items.
• Maintain patient safety and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of one year RN experience in an emergency room setting preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current and unrestricted nursing license in Washington State.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications required.
• TNCC certification required within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.
• Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
