Job Summary
As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for scheduling and registering patients using specialized software, verifying insurance and benefits, and managing referrals and pre-authorizations. You will conduct registration interviews, perform point-of-service collections, and handle multi-line phone systems to provide timely responses to patient inquiries. Your role is essential in maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality while supporting administrative tasks and workflow improvements.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Healthcare experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.

Physical Requirements
