Job Summary: As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will deliver therapeutic treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your role involves assisting patients in regaining function and preventing disability following injury or illness. You will help patients achieve their highest possible level of performance while adapting to their physical limitations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology to administer treatments such as exercises, massages, electrical stimulation, paraffin baths, hot/cold packs, traction, and ultrasound.
• Operate and maintain physical therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Observe and evaluate patient responses to treatment, communicating findings with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assess patient pain levels and functional limitations, coordinating with physicians as necessary.
• Perform appropriate assessments and reassessments across diverse patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Document patient treatments and progress accurately while ensuring a safe care environment that minimizes medical errors.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and continuous quality initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate degree from an American Physical Therapy Association-approved program.
• Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant state.
• Preferred: One or more years of experience in physical therapy practice.
