Position Overview: Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room, providing compassionate and skilled care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics throughout the perioperative process. This role involves direct patient care, continuous communication with surgical and anesthesia teams, and active participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered care with kindness and professionalism, addressing psychosocial and physical needs during the entire perioperative period.
• Serve as the Circulating RN, ensuring seamless communication with surgeons and anesthesia providers regarding patient status.
• Prepare operating rooms by assessing equipment readiness, obtaining necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic conditions.
• Assist patients during procedures by monitoring, positioning, and prepping them appropriately.
• Manage preoperative care including health history collection, IV insertion, and administration of pre-op medications.
• Provide post-anesthesia care in both Phase I and Phase II recovery areas until patient discharge.
• Recognize and respond therapeutically to patient anxiety or distress, coordinating with social services or pastoral care as needed.
• Assess and manage pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain control strategies.
• Maintain a culture of safety and quality by adhering to protocols that minimize medical errors.
• Handle special surgical equipment and instruments with care and precision.

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure valid in a U.S. regional compact state.
• Certifications including ACLS, NRP, PALS, and BLS within one year of hire.
• Minimum of one year perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Additional certifications such as CPAN, CAPA, or CNOR are advantageous.

• Ability to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes.
