Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, providing compassionate and expert respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients. This role involves delivering a wide range of respiratory therapies under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation.

Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will assess patient needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and evaluate therapy effectiveness while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary care teams. Your work will support patient recovery, alleviate discomfort, and promote pulmonary function restoration.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medically prescribed respiratory therapies and conduct pulmonary function tests.
• Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments, adjusting plans as necessary.
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients and caregivers on home care and equipment use.
• Contribute to departmental policy development, training programs, and workflow coordination.
• Maintain a positive work environment and uphold high standards of patient-centered care.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current unrestricted state Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• National Board for Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong clinical competence and knowledge of respiratory care theories and practices.
• Ability to assess and tailor treatments for patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Proficient in operating respiratory therapy equipment and electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
• Leadership qualities including delegation, coaching, and facilitation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing environments.

Work Schedule

Flexible part-time position (.9 FTE) with a rotating schedule of three 12-hour day shifts and three 12-hour night shifts per week.
